Carlton & United Breweries (CUB) has launched a limited edition Victoria Bitter heritage can, a replica of the first beer can in Australia.
The heritage can is being rolled out nationally as a tribute to the first Victoria Bitter can launched back in 1958.
Back then, VB first released a steel can which was produced to help keep the beer cool. The steel can was bigger than its modern day equivalent and harder to open, but the limited edition has the ‘modern’ ring pull.
CUB has assured drinkers that the liquid inside the heritage can is the same great full flavour, full strength VB sold in the iconic green can.
Victoria Bitter has been around for more than a hundred years and people enjoy seeing retro packaging and products rolling out. CUB said the heritage can would provide a fun talking point for drinkers and something of interest for the beer category and retailers over the next few months.
