CUB has received a freedom of information request relating to its submission to the Free TV Australia review of the Commercial Television Code of Practice 2015, which it has voluntarily made publically available here:
The review of the Free TV Code provided an important opportunity to consider whether the Code continued to meet community standards and was in line with changing media consumption.
CUB supported the Draft Code, which was published by Free TV Australia for public consultation.
The changes reflected the fact that placement restrictions occurred during times where the majority of the audience was 18 years and older.
CUB believes that this review was undertaken in an evidence based manner, with thorough consideration of the issues at hand.
In addition to the Free TV Code, CUB has an internal policy that it will only advertise at times when 80 per cent of the audience is over 18 years old.
CUB also complies with the quasi-regulatory and self-regulatory processes in place for governing content of alcohol marketing including the Australian Association of National Advertisers Code of Ethics and the Alcohol Beverages Advertising Code.
CUB works to continually to update and improve its approach to marketing. For information please visit CUB’s website or contact CUB on 03 8626 3903.View all News ← Carlton Dry recall VB heritage cans are out and about… →
