1860s

The Carlton Brewery 1867-1868

Pictured above is the earliest known photo of the Carlton Brewery, 1867-1868.

1864 – An immigrant from Liverpool, England – Edward Latham buys the Bouverie St operation renaming it the Carlton Brewery.

1864 – Clydesdales begin pulling wagons laden with barrels of freshly brewed Carlton Ales.

1865 – The Shamrock brewery begins as Graham’s brewery in East Collingwood by Thomas Graham.
